Eastside Honored at Circle of Support Breakfast
Eastside was honored at the seventh annual Circle of Support Breakfast on May 6, 2010. The breakfast benefited Family & Childrens Services and author Mark Salzman was the keynote speaker. Family & Children's Services provides comprehensive counseling, education and prevention programs to children, youth, adults, and families in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. 

Step By Step Wins Bronze Jefferson Award
In November 2009 the campus community service club, Step by Step, was awarded a Bronze Jefferson Leadership School Service Award. Eastside was one of only five schools in the Bay Area to be honored with the Bronze award for a school-wide commitment to community service.

"The Panther" Wins Journalism Awards
panther staff Eastside's student paper, "The Panther," brought home a series of awards from the San Francisco Peninsula Press Club's High School Journalism Competition in 2009 and again in 2010. This year, two seniors won awards for an editorial, sports photo and news photos. The paper also won Honorable Mention in Layout and Design. Last year, the paper won top honors in General Excellence, winning second place in Layout and Design. Four individual students were recognized for excellence in editorial and photography as well. eastside nsbe champsStudents Take Third in NSBE Competition
For two years in a row, a group of Eastside students have placed third in the National Society of Black Engineers Competition in Las Vegas (2009) and Toronto (2010). For more pictures from the 2009 event, click here.

Student Honored by Boys & Girls Club
In January 2009, an Eastside student was recognized as Boys & Girls Club of the Peninsula Youth of the Year for outstanding community service. Service activities included assisting younger kids with literacy and doing environmental work in the community, as well as playing an active role on many committees at school and in the community.

Step Club Receives "Out on a Limb" Award
Eastside's Step by Step Club received the "Out on a Limb" award from Canopy "for their support of tree planting events in both Palo Alto and East Palo Alto" in January 2009.

Chris Bischof Wins Community Leadership Award
The San Francisco Foundation presented Eastside Principal Chris Bischof with the prestigious Community Leadership Award in 2004. Click here to see a video the Foundation made about Eastside.
