FROM THE PRINCIPAL

We are having a fantastic year with more students on campus than ever before. With 255 students in grades six through twelve, we have managed to maintain the small class sizes and individualized attention that has helped our students to thrive at Eastside for fourteen years. I am excited to see that while we have grown considerably, our teachers continue to know every student so well and the feeling of one big Eastside family persists.

Our students accomplished a tremendous amount during first semester. Our Eastside Society of Engineers won the National Society of Black Engineers Western Region Math and Science Competition and will have the chance to compete at the national level; our community service club was awarded a Bronze Jefferson Leadership School Service Award for our students’ tremendous commitment to service; and one of our seniors was recently accepted to Stanford through the university’s early decision process. So we have lots of success stories to celebrate already, and more to come in our second semester, we hope.
