Clubs

Eastside students are very active on campus and in the community, including creating and supporting clubs around their special interests. To learn more about some of the most active groups on campus, please click the headings below:

Eastside Society of Engineers
The Eastside Society of Engineers participates in the Pre-College Initiative Program of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). The program focuses on encouraging students to develop interest and skills in math and science and to become tomorrow's corporate executives, entrepreneurs, and leaders. Our participation has afforded Eastside students many opportunities, including participation in the annual regional and national Try-Math-a-Lon Competitions. At the events, our students in the Eastside Society of Engineers participate in workshops, meet mentors and learn from leaders in the field, such as CEOs of Texas Instruments, IBM and Microsoft.
Step By Step
Step by Step is a large and growing group of high school students dedicated to performing community service such as tutoring, blood drives, food banks, and toys for tots.  They are also involved in making their world a more eco-friendly place by planting trees, weeding invasive plants and taking part in a Youth Quest leadership conference. Step by Step meets weekly, and also is actively involved in the promotion of the Jefferson Awards — a campus-wide volunteerism award given each grading period to recognize outstanding student volunteers.
Student Council
Student Council is the voice of the Eastside student body. After deciding to eliminate titles, the group crafted its mission: to further develop the Eastside community, to foster connections and service to the larger community, and to make the school year fun and meaningful for other Eastside students.

Members of Student Council organize events such as Spirit Week, Multicultural Day, and a yearly joint dramatic production with Castilleja School. Members of Student Council also coordinate community service opportunities.

Investment Club
Investing for the future not only academically but also financially is a value many Eastside students share. The Investment Club holds scheduled meetings to learn best practices from local financial professionals and economists.
Law Club
Students interested in the legal profession meet regularly to discuss their passion for the law, and the possibilities for future study and practice.
